Odeo Sold for $1 Million

We could see the writing on the wall. Odeo has basically been left to die for the last few months while Evan Williams focused on Twitter. Word around the campfire is that the deal was for a paltry millions dollars to SonicMountain.
I was always a fan of Odeo. I think they were on their way to becoming a formidable competitor to iTunes as a podcast aggregator. I found their site clean and easy to navigate. I really don’t know why they dumped the project to focus on Twitter. My prediction is that Twitter’s star will burn out in the next year. We’ll see.

I’m already bored with Twitter. What’s it been? A month? I agree with you, Scott. Don’t think Twitter’s going to be such a big deal forever.
