There isn't punishment enough for people who do the sort of thing that your dirtbag of the week did. One of my friends works with the victims of child abuse and the stories she comes home with are shocking and harrowing. It affects the kids for years afterwards, I don't think the people who do it have any idea how long lasting the effect is.

On a better nicer note, best of wishes to you, your wife and your soon to arrive baby - how exciting it must all be for you. Am waiting to hear the proud father tone of voice on your podcast after the birth ;)

Hi Scott, and happy new year BTW.

On that talent thing:
It is the same in Germany, those Music Show winners are hyped for some time but after one year (maximum) you don't hear anything about them anymore. There are exceptions, but usually you'll find those ex-Winners in crappy gameshows or talkshows after some time.
On the other hand it is good to see that talent is rewarded.
Alter Bridge will be here in Germany in a few weeks and I have tickets for their concert in Cologne (Yay!). Their current album sells really well, which I believe they didn't really expect.
Great Band.

Great show! Thanks.
Best wishes to you and your wife from my girlfriend and me!

Jim - I will reveal my choice, but I need to be sure first. And, honestly, I'm still not sure believe it or not.

if the cell phone guy had any amount of intelligence, he just would have said, "Oh, silly me! My phone was in my pocket all along!" and walked out. clearly, not everyone is sneaky as me.

alright, scott. we all want to know--who do YOU want to be the next president of these united states? On a show called "American Cliche," you can't cop out of a question like that.

Hey Scott! Glad to hear that you'll be a father soon! Hopefully it doesn't come at a bad time.

I used to live in El Paso, Texas, and Chaparral is no more than 10 minutes away. Also, it's pronounced Chah - pah - rral.

The dirtbag of the week needs to be dipped in hot oil and blow dried himself.

I just wanted to check in, love the show, been listening since #100.

hey Scott- as the mom of a 3 year old and a 10 month old, stories like the one about Toussaint make me feel sick. This one literally made me cry. Babies are extremely challenging, and the sound of a bawling infant is deeply stressing for a reason.
People like this man don't hurt children to make them stop crying or to discipline them. I think that this kind of cruelty must come from the need to punish and inflict pain, particularly on someone who is defenseless.
Hopefully this child will recover and will not have to live with the scars inflicted by this asshole.

Congrats on your expectancy. Love that baby!
