So happy to hear your show again! I was laughing at your description of your daughters “gorilla” run!! Love it. I have been listening to your show for about a year now but have not written before just b/c, well who the hell knows why. ?? I’m sorry. I should have been telling you all along how great your show is. It really is. I love when you talk about your wife and daughter, you sound like a real cool dude. I love when you talk politics, my views are very much the same. I am stoked about Obama. THANK GOD he is in office. I’m 27, live in Fort Myers Florida, and I am just recently married….. now I have a step-son! I love my life. I am going to try and find you on FaceBook. Hey Man. Where can i start, i’ve never messaged you as there’s always been so much i feel i wanted to write i never got round to doing it!
I first listened to your show randomly on itunes when i was at a job in a town where i knew no-one as i had just moved there, and i instantly felt like one of your friends! That was around Early 2007 and i have listened ever since then. I enjoy your take on life and it’s really interesting learning more about America and Politics there as i have never had much knowledge about this.
I’m Joe, i’m 20 years old and I live and was born in Nottingham England right in the Centre of the UK. It made me laugh when you said Leicester talking about a news story before, we pronounce it LESS-TER! Also the whole most depressing day in history story was funny. Loads of people i knew on work on that monday were mentioning it, it made the day so much more full of joy! I personally was at work at 6:30am with a frozen solid car so i had a great start to black monday!
One more thing, i’d like to thank you for taking your time and effort to make this show, and i know it can be hard to motivate yourself to do something like this, especially when we all have plenty of shit to deal with. But you should know i really appreciate it, and when you ever come to the UK I will buy YOU a beer!
I hope to come on Holiday to the west coast of the USA this year so i will let you know if i do, but until i get chance to tell you more of my crap i will sign out.

Steinar – my bad. You are absolutely right. I apologize for not mentioning your donation. There is absolutely no excuse. Sometimes things just slip through the cracks and I apologize.

As for the stickers, we don’t have them made yet, so there is nothing to respond to in that regard.

wow interesting show scott. this was the first time i ever heard your show and Im curious to see what your focus is going to be for the up coming shows. your job description sounds like the most interesting job iv ever heard. as a 21 year old aspiring marketer, iv always though that younger people had an unappreciated advantage for their peer market simply because we are surfing the web all day for things most adults might not have the time for. we have time to understand youth subcultures and musical trends and can capitalize on them before they become,well…cliche:) i digress. Im currently a unsigned band music marketer living in the L.A. area and i would love it if you spoke more about avenues of online marketing or, more exciting for the general listener, unheard-of, yet potentially influential sites.

I am from Costa Rica and I listen the show every time I can.
I really like it.
We had a big earthquake on January 8th and we have been having more than 2000 after shakes (just a comment about what is happening in our country). Everybody here needs to be ready , experts say will be continue shaking until the fault line gets to its “normality”.

We have this felling that your country is going to be better with this new government. That’s our hope.
I work for a great American company that has taught me a lot of things about your culture so I would like to go for vacations in the future.

Keep doing this show. I really like it.

Josh – right on about President Obama. I feel the same way. As far as the Pats, how can a team be 11-5 and not get into the playoffs? The kicker is that the Cardinals are going to the Superbowl. They have no business being there!

Hi Scott,

On behalf of everyone who lives in Grand Rapids, Mi I’d like to say “Welcome back!”
I am soooo happy and sooo proud that I can now say Hello Mr. President and not have to be looking into Bush’s gump face. I can now tell people I meet “yes I am American” and not have immediately to apologize for the president and his stupidity.

Blue Monday: we only had 2 out of 25 people out sick for the day which is far below the 22% standard.

Not that your anywhere near it but I will be in San Fran come March, still much closer to Santa Barbra than Michigan is.

Lastly, can you believe how close we came to another playoff birth and yet Those damn unreliable Jets cant even got one bloody win when we need then to! Just another reason not to like them if you ask me, GO Pats!!!

I really enjoy listening to the show and missed it while you were taking time off.

In regards to Monday being depressing due to winter weather, I cannot agree. Living in the Central Valley here in California, it has been near 70 in the afternoons for almost a week. Interesting weather for the middle of January.

Hi Scott!

It’s great to have the show back on a weekly basis!
As I’m in Sweden I usually download the show through iTunes either on Wednesday morning if I have the time or when I get home from school. The show really is something to look forward to every week and it’s so interesting to hear about the all day life and politics in the US.

Regarding the homework…I don’t have anything to say to my defense I suppose I could blame the school for drenching me in work. I will try to come up with some nice story from Sweden until next week!

I didn’t think of Monday 19th as especially depressing, other than getting my Physics test back, which could be considered a source of depression it self… The winter weather was really nothing to remember with temps in the low 20s and grey skies. What is depressing though, is the lack of sunlight here in Sweden during the winter. When I leave for school, it’s dark, when I get home it’s even darker. I guess it’s better in California then!

Anyway, talk to you next week!

Regarding the airplane landing on the Hudson, there are many questions I have. I don’t want start any conspiracy theories here, but it may be that my tin hat is on too tight.

I looked around the internet for recording of the cockpit to tower conversation, but nothing. Aviation fan sites that were tracking the air waves during the occurrence captured nothing. Later it was said that the black box revealed that the pilot was trying to communicate with tower, but did not properly press the talk button. Hmm?

Also, the pilot was never available for question by the press? Why was he held in so secret?

And, it is rare that an engine catches birds, but two engines?

Last, wasn’t many of the passengers from Bank of America? Perhaps they someone was trying to scare them.

I find it quite strange.

Anyway, I thought I’d kick off your comeback with something to talk about.
