Last week was a crazy-busy week. This week looks to be just about the same. Between Emma’s first birthday extravaganza and the Superbowl, we had a pretty packed weekend. I’ve also been working hard at securing a new sponsor for the show. I’m happy to say that this week we have one.

How great would it be if Obama did a full-blown investigation (with necessary ramifications) into all actions of Bush and his administration, if for no other reason than to ensure that no President can get away with creating powers he was never meant to have.
Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. The new administration has said time and time again that they will not be looking back, which I find unfortunate. Obama has the power to restore “checks and balances,” but I doubt it will happen.

Yeah Jim, I’m with you. I agree we shouldn’t be drudging up the past for past’s sake. But, as you said we need to restore the fundamental checks and balances system to our government.
In fact, there was a shocking interview today I read on Politico with Dick Cheney where he said that because of Obama’s reversal of Bush’s policies – namely the closing of Gitmo and banning the use of extreme interrogation techniques that he is fairly certain we’ll have a major terrorist attack. He also said the U.S. needs not so much to be “liked” but “respected.” He sounds like a grade-school bully.
