  1. I would love a dorito taco shell for the record.

thanks, brian! I thought it was a good idea too. Scott, what do you think about it? I was glad you played my Rant, but was disappointed you didn’t say if the dorito taco shell was a good or bad idea, which was the whole point of the Rant! ;-)

  3. Sorry Jim – I thought the point of the rant was that we’re a litigious society and we don’t help each other out anymore.

As far as the Doritos shell, I don’t like Doritos or Fritos or anything like that, so the idea of a taco shell made from it is not for me.

I want to start by saying I am 100% in support of gay marriage, I have no problems with it at all. If two people, no matter what their genders are can find love and happiness as a society what right do we have to tell them no? I find it sad and disappointing that as a country we are oppressive to people just because they don’t love in a “normal” way.

But, on the other hand, we do live in a free society, one of our fundamental principles is freedom of speech. Just because Miss California is anti-gay marriage does NOT mean we should attack her, it does NOT make her a bad person and it should NOT in anyway shape or form effect the outcome of her pageant. She is simply misinformed and speaking her opinion, which sadly is the same as the majority of the country. I recently read on cnn.com how 55% of the US is against gay marriage. I believe we should respect her opinion and instead of bashing her (which makes those of us who disagree with her look like asses) we should have an open dialogue. Her opinion should be challenged, not her character. What happened to the freedom of having a different opinion? I applaud her for having the courage to express her opinion publicly and then stand behind it. Right or wrong she does not deserve the backlash she is receiving.

Once again let me stress, I am PRO gay marriage.

On a side note, I found it ironic that Shanna Moekler (spelling?) a former Playboy model and former Miss USA resigned over not stripping the current title holder. I find that hypocritical.

  5. Hey Scott great show by the way! greetings from Barcelona city (Spain).

    Take care!

  6. Mike,

I am attacking her character for two reasons:

    1. She pretends to be against gay marriage under the umbrella of family values etc, yet she has topless photos of herself online. (Hypocrite much?)

    2. Miss California is supposed to represent all the people of our state. That means you talk about the state flower and ending poverty etc – you don’t use it as a soapbox to give your opinion about a divisive issue.

I absolutely agree with freedom of speech, but let’s take that a step further and allow people to really express their personal freedoms by being allowed the same rights that straight people have.

    Make sense?

I don’t know, I just feel like most of the attacks against her come off as “You don’s share my opinion therefore you’re a dumb bitch.” I’m not saying you said that, just how she’s portrayed. I personally disagree with her and quite honestly don’t care about her, I just hate that there are personal attacks for her opinion. I respect her for having the “balls” to express her opinion in such a public forum. But I do agree with you it is so sad that gay men and women cannot marry each other. Also I never thought of marriage as freedom of speech, but that’s an interesting thought.

Either way I still love your show and agree with you 75% of the time.

  8. Mike,

I can’t control how she’s portrayed, just how I see her. Like you said, I didn’t say those word.

The point I keep coming back to is how she said that she wishes people could show tolerance and respect for differening opinions in regards to all the people slamming her. Where is her tolerance for allowing same-sex marriage? She can’t have it both ways.
