Good show! I always like hearing your arguments on the health care reform issue, you put it into words so well and really help me get a handle on what I want to say to the people I know who are against it. Hope everything’s ok on your end. Sounds like there’s a lot going on and I hope it all turns out to be for the good! Take care!

Hi Missy,
I appreciate your faith in my ability to frame the healthcare issue. I actually feel like I bumble through it like an idiot sometimes, but it’s nice to know I don’t always come off that way.
Hope you are well.

I never get around to thank you for your shows, but I am stuck in North Dakota this week, and you show has made the boring hours here tolerable. So, thank you. I love your rants and how you state your opinions with your logic and never delve into madness like so many other do.

Hi Scott,
I love love love your podcast, I really enjoy listening to the show at work!! Makes my Tuesday brighter!!! I was shocked at the story of the raped girl, I mean, all of the other people that watched it happening for so long and didn’t do anything, that’s so awful, makes me wonder if this is the youth that’s out there… what’s the future going to be like… what is there to offer if such awful things are happening right in front of us, I mean… it’s basic respect of fellow human beings, it leaves me with a feeling of hopelessness.
About the health care issue, I’m from Colombia (Sth America… many people don’t know where it is) and well, I know things aren’t that nice over there as many colombian people would think, stuff happens there (as in every other country) but it seems nice that your president is doing something to make it better to all of you, I hope that comes to a fair end for everyone.
Here, health care is not even a right, the government stopped supporting it a really long time ago and that’s just the tip of the iceberg… thanks to our “beloved” president and the long time fund of a non-sense war, the list of complaints will be never ending… I won’t get started!!!
Again! finally get to make a comment, keep it up, love listening to your stories and hope everything will be the best it could be for you.

Hi Scott,
Thought i would throw a question out there. I’m interested in all things space related, and have been watching the live launches from the Cape for a while. I understand at the moment that there is debate about NASA funding, and it uspets me to think that it may be cut. However, i suddenly thought ‘i wonder what could be achieved if the NASA funding was used for something else, like cancer research?’ This puts me in a dilemma. NASA research and spreading our wings into space is vitally important, but is it more important than cancer research? I’ve lost family to this and so i’m not sure of the answer. What do you think?
Great show.
Mike (UK).

Ticketed for speaking spanish…
Thanks for posting the story. Yeah, I totally can see that this could have been an honest mistake by a rookie police officer, i’ll see how the story plays out as well. Nevertheless, nobody should be ticketed for not speaking english. She was pulled over for the making an illegal u-turn. I guess I just get enraged when stories like this happen and I feel like people do not talk about it.
The whole immigration debate aside, which is a topic for another conversation that we should also engage in, it strikes a chord in me when I see people in my community being discriminated like this. I mean the rhetoric on the individuals who are arguing for English only policies seem to endorse this kind of behavior. Now i’m from an area in Southern California that is anti-immigrant. However this sentiment over legality seems to transcend from just paper to move in to race. The sentiment makes you not even feel safe in your own country. “If you don’t like it than you can get out.”
To where sir? I was born here in San Diego. My mom is from Pennsylvania and my dad is from North Carolina. I have ancestry from Chile, Spain and England, is that where you suggest I go? Anyway I could go on and on. Something about it is just not right. Give the lady a ticket for the illegal u turn but not speaking english…
FUN FACT… Did you know that in terms of population , the USA is the 2nd largest spanish speaking nation in the world 2nd only to Mexico. Thats right! We have more spanish speakers than Spain. Spanish speakers account for over 15 percent of the US population.
