Hi All,

I agree that breast milk is a biohazard. A good many diseases can be transferred through bodily fluids. Particularly if sprayed in the face where there are several entry points to the body.

Having some experience in healthcare office management (I am not a direct care worker) I know what someone goes through if they are exposed to infectious desease (dirty needle stick, etc.). There is a pile of paperwork, disease screenings, and a high level of emotional stress while waiting for test results. I would be willing to bet that the officer was more than a little concerned about infectious disease. Particularly if the defendant was exposed to the general prison population.

I haven’t that Bon Jovi song in years, I think it’s kind of that it’s actually in Spaceballs (which I saw in the theater as a kid). Awesome song choice.

On the breast-milk story: I don’t think “bio-hazard” is too strong a word. To be honest, sometimes I wish I could classify people that way just due to proximity.

I agree with you. The police have no way of knowing what sort of diseases a prisoner could have. Maybe it’s just gross, or maybe the officer gets the swine flu. The former case is pretty funny. The latter is pretty scary.
