American Cliche #228 – Ode to SXSW 2010

This week I’m doing something entirely different on the show. Yesterday I got back from South By Southwest in Austin Texas. Over the course of a few nights I had a pretty surreal experience running into musicians and an actor that I think really highly of. This show is a recap and a journey through my adventure at SXSW 2010.

I hope that you guys will dig it. I realize it’s a bit self-serving and may not be what you’re used to, but I hope you’ll indulge me. That said, this is just going out to those of you that subscribe to the feed, email newsletter and visit the website. Enjoy!

I’m totally digging this show, I’m not even half way through, but I thought I’d let you know anyway.

That was an entertaining show! Words cannot express my jealousy, I LOVE the Foo Fighters (best band of the past 20 years) and to see Johnny Cash’s backing band would have been amazing.

  3. Hey Scott,

Great show – really refreshing. I didn’t know all the names but it was interesting to hear what they had done. You have a real talent for bringing music to us in an interesting way. Perhaps you’ve turned a corner with the show with a mix of news and music.

Sorry to hear your news. I’m sure someone as talented and dedicated as yourself will have no problems landing on your feet, with another company benefiting from your energy.

The show was great and I was really enjoying your energy. I had already read your news online, so that enjoyment was touched with a tinge of sadness.

I know you’ll land on your feet. When you do, listen to this show again and remember how good you felt before everything hit the fan back home.

    Celebrity Poker

Here is a fun game to play when you are around famous people. I invented for attending NAMM.
    It is called “Celebrity Poker”.

Keep a mental note of the famous people you spot. Then when you bump into other CP players you lay down your “Cards” and argue who has the better hand.

I spotted Eddie Van Halen, Carlos Santana, Pink, Bootsey Collins and Al Dimiola.

So If My friend saw George Clinton, Tony Iomi, Stevie Wonder, Zoe Keating and Niel Peart…

    Who won?
