I had a really good time taping this episode. I’m not sure why – I’m running on 4 hours sleep and I have an overwhelming to-do list. Something just felt good about turning up Slash and Poison and rocking out. I hope you guys dig it.

I don’t often mix my two worlds, but I thought this piece I produced for MediaTrust’s Relevantly Speaking video series was pretty awesome. A couple months back in New York I got a chance to interview CNN’s SEO Coordinator, Topher Kohan. For those that don’t know, “SEO” stands for Search Engine Optimization. Topher’s job at CNN is to make sure that search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing can find their news stories and other content accurately when people search for them. In addition to the SEO stuff, we talked about CNN’s fabulously successful iReport program as well as the impact that social media is having on how CNN reports news.
After a six week hiatus, I’m back this week with a brand spankin’ new episode of the radio show. Did you miss me? Today I’m talking about some of the major headlines that have been dominating the news in recent weeks as well as some life changes that I’m working through.

I know I know – the radio show continues to be missing in action. I hadn’t realized it had been over a month since the last show. It was not my intention to go that long, but the sponsorship hasn’t played out like I’ve needed it to. I’m still hopeful that we’ll have something in the next few weeks.
That said, I wanted to give you guys SOMETHING to keep you entertained and a reason to keep coming back to the blog. In this video, I’ve brought out a dancing monkey for your viewing pleasure. Ok, well not really, but sometimes I feel like a dancing monkey.
This week the blogosphere is abuzz with news of Twitter ad platform. Best Buy, Sony and Starbucks are rumored to be among the first brands to test the Twitter-waters. Is this a good idea? What could Twitter do differently to monetize their service? Weigh in below…
Just a random update to catch you guys up on what’s going on in my world. During my career hiccup over the last couple of weeks, I’m learning the importance of having a strong local network in my hometown. It’s great to be connected nationally, but you can’t beat solid relationships with movers and shakers in your own backyard.
I also have some news about the radio show and how things stand for the foreseeable future. Sponsorship isn’t ironed out yet for Q2 and that is affecting the production of the show.
UPDATE: After I published this show a temporary stay was granted for the execution of Henry Skinner. What does this all mean? Who knows at this point, but the debate raised in AC229 is still relevant. Your thoughts?
This week I’m doing something entirely different on the show. Yesterday I got back from South By Southwest in Austin Texas. Over the course of a few nights I had a pretty surreal experience running into musicians and an actor that I think really highly of. This show is a recap and a journey through my adventure at SXSW 2010.
I hope that you guys will dig it. I realize it’s a bit self-serving and may not be what you’re used to, but I hope you’ll indulge me. That said, this is just going out to those of you that subscribe to the feed, email newsletter and visit the website. Enjoy!
