iPod Question Mark
We want your experience with American Cliché to be as enjoyable and easy as possible, so we’ve taken the time to answer some common questions that we’re often asked:

What is the easiest way to listen to the show on my computer?

That’s an easy one… at the top of every new show post there is a red & blue icon with a play button. Press that and the show will begin playing automatically. You can also use the handy “Pickle Player” icon to your right.

I clicked on the “Pickle Player” button, but the player doesn’t open. What now?

Make sure that you have disabled the pop-up blocker on your Internet Browser. In Internet Explorer go to Tools > Pop-up Blocker >Turn Off Pop-up Blocker. This should fix your issue

How can I make sure I get the latest episode of the show delivered right to my computer as soon as it’s available?

You want to make sure you subscribe to the feed. Rest assured, a subscription is free, it just means that you’ll continue to get the new shows delivered to your computer for as long as you’re subscribed. To do this you’ll need some sort of podcatching software. We recommend Apple’s iTunes for ease of use, and if you have a Mac, it’s already installed on your computer.

Once you’ve got your podcatcher, go to the main page of our website and click on the “Add in iTunes” icon under “Feeds” and you’ll be ready to go.

If the preceeding sentences gave you a headache, then simply look to your right until you see “Notify Me of New Shows!” Enter your email address and everytime a new show is published, you will receive an email with a link to the show. It doesn’t get ANY easier than that!

Ok, so I’ve got my subscription setup, how can I get the episodes onto my iPod?

In your preferences in iTunes, there is a section for iPod preferences (you’ll need to have your iPod connected to your computer to access these preferences). In those preferences go to the “podcast” section and make sure that you either choose to update all podcasts, or if you check the manual option that you check the box for “American Cliché.” This will insure that you get the latest episode available on your iPod every time you sync with your computer.

What if I have a different type of MP3 player or other audio device?

You may want to check with your specific player’s manufacturer. Keep in mind that this podcast is really just an mp3 file, just like all the other songs on your player. You can transfer these shows in the same way that you transfer your music to your music player.

Can I send you feedback about the show?

Of course! We live for your feedback. Email us at: TheAmericanCliche (at) gmail.com or call us: 1.323.285.5219

How often do you do the show and where is it produced?

American Cliché is produced weekly in our studio in Santa Barbara, CA USA. It is done with broadcast-quality equipment ‘live to tape.’ That means no overdubs or re-takes. What you hear is exactly how it went down when I pressed ‘record.’ Additionally, I produce a show called “8BallRadio Rewind” where the focus is exclusively on music.

8BallRadio Rewind? Are you somehow affiliated with 8BallRadio.com?

We are. 8BallRadio was the radio station that Scott and Brian created and managed from November 2000 – September 2005. Even though it’s time has come and gone, it will always live in our hearts as one of the first truly pioneering online music ventures in the world. Now that spirit lives on in the 8BallRadio Rewind (hey, that last part would make a great intro…I’ll have to use that).

Why did you join PodShow and why do you play ads on the show from time to time?

In a perfect world listeners would throw money our way and pay for our content. However, we live in a world where most people expect to get content, especially content on the internet, for free. That means in order to make a living we need to accept sponsorship and advertising. It has always been my goal to build the show up and take it to the next level, while still remaining true to myself and the people (you all) that got us here. Joining PodShow was a natural progression of attaining that goal. The people at PS headquaters are an exceptionally talented bunch that genuinely care about podcasting and making it exciting. They allow me complete creative freedom and control.

My question isn’t answered here. Where can I get help?

Email us at: TheAmericanCliche (at) gmail.com and be as detailed as you can. We’ll do everything we can to get you an answer in a jiffy.
